We left Kata in Phuket (and said goodbye to the marble Big Buddha) this afternoon and took a bus and boat over to Ko Phi Phi. This island is well known not only as it was where the film The Beach is set but it was also one of the worst hit places in the tsunami.
Arriving at the port it still has a holiday feel to it but rather than tattooed Scandinavians tourists most seem of the back packer/hippy variety. We checked into our little room on stilts and set off to explore.
Another Pad Thai and a Thai Red curry later we are contemplating whether to watch the fire show, stroll on the sand or simply watch the island go by.

It just keeps getting better and better!
