After a few too many days in Beijing, what felt like real China, it's a breath of fresh air to be in Shanghai which is as cosmopolitan as you'd expect. Last night we took a stroll along the bund and went to an acrobatic show. The best of all the acrobatics was not the five motorcycle riders whizzing around a metal dome but the act that was called 'man with pot on head'.
So today we rose early and finally we found blue skies in china and serious sunshine. We took the ferry over the river and went up a very fast lift to see the amazing sights from a tall tower. The we zoomed on the metro to the French concession area and enjoyed a long awaited dim sum and tea lunch. After a bit more wondering in the people's park and square we rejoined the group. Then we went out for another amazing Chinese meal for £5 a head then we went clubbing with the group! Not only are we going clubbing in Shanghai at our age, but our guide got the most pissed amongst us all. It was very funny indeed there was constant entertainment in the club, including Mickey mouse dancing! Anyway it's almost 3 in the morning here so we best go as tomorrow night it's another night train to Xian.

I hope the man's pot wasn't the kind that was kept under a bed:)
