Dumpling dinner defeated

We arrived safely in Xian. Our second over night train was fine, as we are now completely in synch with China time. On the train we shared an area with a lovely 80 year old man who climbed all the way to the top bunk at great speed.

During our first day here we cycled the 13k around the city walls, and it was marvellous to have the wind in our hair and see our third city in China. Then this evening we have been out for a mega dumpling dinner with the group. The dumplings were amazing, the duck ones came in the shape of a duck and the fish ones were Octopus shaped. I shared three platters full of dumplings with the other veggie in the group. Yum.

We don't have wifi in the hotel (we're in the bar now) so not sure if we'll get the chance to blog again, but I keep saying that so you never know.

Over the next few days anyway we'll be doing a Chinese calligraphy class, checking out the Muslim quarter and seeing the warriors. Then we leave Xian to get our third night train, to begin our three day river cruise.
