We thought that we'd need to watch at least some Kung Fu whilst being in China so we sought out a free show in Kung Fu Corner in Kowloon Park. Students from 3 schools performed along with their 'masters'. It was so hot that even some of the Hongkers said that it was unnaturally hot.
The park was teeming with Phillipinos and Chinese helpers on their only day off of the week - you really couldn't move without seeing them, sitting around, laughing and flirting.
We then went for more Dumplings and steamed buns at apparently the cheapest Michelin star restaurant in the world called Din Tai Fung.
We finished off the day with an epic walk to the New Territories and looped back round to the bird garden, which was unfortunately still closed.
Dinner was in a typical Asian fast food place called Yoshinoya - I thought I had ordered pork and chicken but when the meal came it was salmon flakes and they were as orange as the restaurant!
Overall we're very glad for the experience of China - we've been pointed at, counted by Chinese kids, barged out the way in queues, had to dodge spit and almost run over several times, but if you look above all that there's a huge amount of character in China. What has stuck out the most is that the scenery has been much more stunning than we expected, the Chinese really care for their families, they're deeply symbolic and they're small!
As we write this, it is 10am on Monday (3am In UK) we fly to Thailand (only 6 hours ahead) this evening. We're both looking forward to getting out of the cities to some beaches and relaxation.
