We arrived safely in Thailand at around midnight and stayed at a cheap place very close to Phuket airport.
The next morning we woke up to cloudy skies and pouring rain. Boo hiss boo.
Nevertheless we packed our things back up and shared a mini bus to our next stop in Kata beach. Our bus delivered the other passengers off at their resorts first giving us a good idea of what we were in for in Phuket. We were also forced to get out and discuss our travel plans with a travel agent that mist have been 'affiliated' with the bus company and they tried to sell is some excursions. We went through the infamous Patong Beach which is known as Bangkok on the sea. It was hideous and full of over weight white people. The long stretch of white sand looked beautiful, though no one was on it due to the rain. By the time we'd also gone through Karon and reached our resort in Kata the rain had stopped sadly the grey skies persisted.
We are staying at the Tropical Inn and it's a world away from the Hong Kong Hostel, three rooms for our bathroom alone! And it was only £25 a night. Ok so we are taking a little holiday from the travelling we thought we deserved it after China.
Once we were settled we explored the area, beach and a ska bar. Even though the weather wasn't brill, the beach was still stunning.
We had a little swim in the hotel pool then watched a couple of movies in the hotel room whilst munching on banana and chocolate pancakes - bliss.
Today, we've woken up to beautiful sunshine so we are having another holiday type day today.
As we write this it is almost 11am (6 hours ahead of UK) and we are having a late breakfast!

I trust you don't intend to continue that luxury, I'm not sure it's what I've booked so far:)
